President's Letter

Happy New Year to you! I am honored to welcome in 2025 as our Section’s next President.
Building on the strong legacy of our past, I look forward to serving you this year with an eye
toward the future!

I first want to humbly thank our 2024 President, Erin Sharp-Newton, whose leadership and
passion stimulated fantastic educational events and tours this past year. Additionally, Robert
Epstein joined AIA Central in 2024 as our Section Director, providing unending assistance and
support. It is through Erin and Robert’s dedication this past year, and the Executive Committee
and Board of Trustees’ ongoing service, that AIACNJ has furthered our mission of “Legacy and
Uplift.” We will continue to support and advance our members through education, resources,
and mentorship, while safeguarding the integrity of the profession of architecture.

I aim to work closely with our Board of Trustees, our generous sponsors, and you – our
members – to grow and expand our continuing education and learning opportunities. I am also
excited to work alongside David von Stappenbeck this year as our President-Elect. In 2025, we
will offer many new social and happy hour networking events, including an ongoing book club!
We will continue our Design Awards Program and schedule regular tours, webinars, and other
educational initiatives. I hope to see you at one of our upcoming events including our installation
and CE dinner on February 11 th ! We welcome you to please reach out, join our events, and stay
engaged with us.

Thank you for this opportunity to serve, and I look forward to expanding AIACNJ’s growth and
impact in 2025!
